Support for combat wounded veterans
Veteran Project Greenland
create a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of Greenlandic veterans
by helping them rebuild themselves, find community and create greater understanding in society.
Fhe purpose of the association is to support the entire group of veterans and their relatives in Greenland – including mentally injured veterans with combat injuries and other veterans with a special need worthy of recognition in Denmark.
Support for veterans in Greenland
Veteranprojekt Greenland is a dedicated organization that supports combat-injured veterans and their families. They work to ensure the recognition and support that veterans deserve.
The association has a special focus on Greenland, where there are more than 100 veterans and their relatives who find themselves in a legal gray area due to the borders of the Danish Realm.
This means that despite Danish legislation requiring help for veterans, they are partially cut off if a need for help arisesas the concept of “veteran” is unfortunately almost non-existent in Greenland.
Annual trips to Greenland
The association travels to Greenland once a year to meet with Greenlandic veterans, celebrate Flag Day (September 5) and organize various activities.
A handful of both resourceful and combat-injured Danish veterans and Gerth Berthelsen, project manager for Veteran Project Greenland, will participate.
We also have our photographer Christian Radil, who is a veteran himself.
Together, this group forms a dedicated team that works hard to create a meaningful and memorable experience for Greenlandic veterans.
Year-round support
In addition to the annual trip, Veteranprojekt Greenland provides support to veterans and their families throughout the rest of the year.
They plan and organize activities to create a community for veterans to share their experiences and get support from each other.
WEcreate documents non profit
To document Veteran Project Greenland’s work, seek further support and share it with the world, the organization needs image and video material.
WEcreate’s chief photographer, Christian Radil, helps the organization take photos and make videos that show what their work entails – and the impact it has on Greenlandic veterans.
It has been a great relief for the association to be able to hand over the visual part to Christian, so they can concentrate solely on helping the veterans. At the same time, they get professional images and videos that tell a story and get the association’s message across.
A shared mission
Veteranprojekt Greenland is proud of their work and is grateful for all their volunteers and partners who make it possible for them to continue their mission.
The association believes that by coming together and supporting each other, they can help veterans and their families get the recognition and support they deserve.
For WEcreate, it is particularly important to participate in and support Veteran Project Greenland, as our photographer is a veteran himself and thus has a great understanding of the importance of the association’s work.
That’s why WEcreate/Militærfoto* is committed to supporting veterans and being part of this meaningful work.
We are dedicated to contributing to the project and making a positive impact on the lives of veterans across the Commonwealth.

"Christian has made a crucial difference"
“On our trips with the veterans, we have a lot to handle. We have to follow up on the veterans’ wellbeing and keep them informed about the plans. There’s also a big task of securing sponsorships, and this is where Christian, our photographer and veteran, has made a crucial difference. He has helped create professional visuals that have elevated the quality of our presentations and fundraising efforts. Christian is a natural fit as part of the team, as he has military experience himself, and he is an invaluable resource for us. His photos and videos have allowed us to tell our story in a more effective and impressive way, which has contributed to our success in securing sponsors. We are grateful for his contribution and appreciate the professional quality he brings to our project” – Gerth Berthelsen, Project Manager Veteran Project Greenland.
